✔ January – IT’S HERE!- Know before you go! The last minute guide for CES 2020.

It is the first workday of the year and we can definitely feel the heat as CES approaches fast. Many of our clients are dealing with last-minute materials, media scheduling and approvals of press announcements. There are a few checklist items that you don’t want to forget on your way to the show just days away. Here’s a quick checklist that you can mark off so that you can be sure to be prepared for the best media presence that you’ve had yet.

  • Badge pick up before Tuesday is best. Check the Badge Pick up locations so that your pickup is easy and worry-free. You can even grab your badge at the airport.
  • Secure water and snacks for booth staff (and yourself) – Sometimes there’s no time to eat. Make sure you stay hydrated and have energy bars to get the most out of your show.
  • Identify the media badge color – Media typically has a unique colored badge, scout it out and keep it in mind to approach media near your booth space.
  • Schedule a pre-show kickoff meeting for your booth or attending colleagues – craft a plan and attack it. It’s a big show, divide and conquer is the name of the game.
  • Have a printed schedule posted in your booth for booth staff, breaks, arrivals and departures.
  • Make sure your staff knows when they are expected at the booth every day. You should be able to connect with key spokespeople at meeting times with the media as well or be able to find them for stop-by’s.
  • Set up a system to distribute business cards
  • Set up a system to collect business cards and plan follow-up (especially with media)
  • Follow up, follow up, follow up!

It’s about that time for us to shift gears to see what’s cool at CES. Good luck with your booth and if there’s anything we can do to optimize your 2020 PR strategy and plan, feel free to email us.

If you still love actually checking things off of a list (like we do), we’ve created a PDF doc that’s perfect for you.
